What We Believe

There are certain pillars of the Christian faith we hold to be clearly defined in God's word, and enjoy discussing the rest. Here are those truths we hold to be unshakeable:

Truths & References

  • That all scripture is inspired by God (2 Tim. 3:16-17) and is living and active in the life of each believer (Heb. 4:12)
  • That God is three distinct persons in one: God the Father, God the Son (or Word) and God the Holy Spirit, and are co-equal, co-powerful and co-eternal as the Godhead (Genesis 1:26, John 10:30, 1 John 5:7-8)
  • That Jesus, the Son, is God (John 1:1, 14)
  • That the Holy Spirit is God (John 14:16-17)
  • That the universe and all things in it were created and not evolved (Genesis 1:1, 20-27)
  • In the universal fall into sin of all mankind through the transgression of Adam (Rom. 5:12)
  • In the virgin birth of God the Son Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:23)
  • That Jesus Christ is the way, truth and life and no man comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6)
  • That Christ's death and shedding of His blood washes away all sin and is necessary for salvation (Romans 5:69, Acts 9:11-12, John 11:25-26)
  • That salvation is by grace without works (Ephesians 2:8-10)
  • That God has called us to a life of repentance and sanctification (Acts 2:38-39, Acts 3:19, 1 Cor. 6:9-11)
  • That Jesus received His stripes for our healing and we follow the command to call the elders of the church to anoint with oil., and believe the prayer of faith shall heal (Isaiah 53:5, James 5:14-15, 1 Peter 2:24)
  • That the Holy Spirit seals and indwells every believer at salvation (Ephesians 1:13)
  • That every yielded believer who desires can be filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13)
  • That the gift of tongues is available to all believers (1 Cor. 14:4-5 & 14-18)
  • That the Holy Spirit gives gifts to be used for the edification of the church as a body, as well as the individual who possesses them, and that these gifts are in operation today (1 Cor. 12)
  • That the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers is for today to bring into maturity the body of Christ (the church) for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:8-15)
  • That Christ was victorious over satan, and we, as Christians, likewise have the authority and power, through Christ, to bind satan (Matthew 18:18-20)
  • That tithes and offerings are God's ordained plan for the operation of the ministry through a strong local church (Malachi 3:8-12, 1 Cor. 16:2)
  • That baptism is commanded by Christ for every believer by immersion in water (Matthew 28:19, John 3:23, Romans 6:1-6)
  • That Christ established the ordinances of Holy communion in remembrance of the sacrifice He made for our salvation and healing; the bread representing His body, the fruit of the vine representing His blood (1 Cor. 11:23-26, Luke 22:14-20)
  • That Jesus Christ is personally returning to the earth for His church (Acts 1:9-11, 1 Thess. 4:13-18)
  • That satan is real and the father of sin (Isaiah 14:12-17, Revelation 20:1-2, John 8:44)
  • That hell is real and all those without Christ will spend eternity there (Revelation 20:15)
